Strategies adopted to achieve ODF status

Women participation

•    In the successful implementation of the program, women’s participation played an important role. Special efforts were made to make them integral part of the CLTS, and they emerged as natural leaders also.

•         They were the targets by trainers and motivators being the most direct and silent sufferers in terms of rising too early, during child-birth, diseases and many other well known and accepted factors.

•         They understand the importance of health as they bear the burden of ill health of any member in the household, more specifically children.
